November 2025 Community Events and Trainings
Partners throughout the state host a variety of community events and trainings designed to engage families, provide valuable resources, and promote early childhood development. From workshops and educational sessions to fun, interactive activities for kids, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
All of the events and trainings provided below are offered at no cost to participants. Some partners offer additional trainings which may charge a fee to participants. Tuesday, November 4th
- Harvest of Health – 1:00 pm to 3:00pm

- This is a free community resource fair, services, and fresh produce! All services are free and open to the community.
- The Children’s Cabinet – I’m Ready for K! – 11:00am to 12:00am
- Location – NORTH LAS VEGAS – Alexander Library –1755 W Alexander Road North Las Vegas, NV 89032
- I'm Ready for K Sessions are designed for children ages 3-5 years old with the primary aim of teaching social, emotional and academic skills needed for pre-K and Kindergarten readiness, while providing an opportunity for positive parent-child interaction and strengthening the parent-child relationship.

- Nevada PEP - Developing the IEP to Meet Your Child's Needs - 5:00pm to 6:00pm
- Location - STATEWIDE - Virtual
- Join us as we discuss special education and the IEP meeting process, including how parents can partner and actively participate in the development of their child's individualized education program.

- The Children’s Cabinet – Smart Starts: Routines That Build Brains – 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

- Learn how everyday routines—like mealtime, bathtime, and bedtime—can become powerful brain-building moments. This class explores early brain development, the importance of structure and consistency, and how Vroom’s simple tips fit seamlessly into your daily schedule to support your child’s growth.

Wednesday, November 5th
- The Children’s Cabinet – I’m Ready for K! – 9:30am to 10:30am

- MomsRising - 2025 Nevada Virtual Townhall - 5:30pm to 7:00pm
- Location - STATEWIDE - Virtual
- MomsRising is partnering with moms, parents and families to lift up the issues that matter most to Nevadans. Join this virtual townhall meeting to hear from a panel including legislators and community advocates to discuss issues such as child care, family leave and other issues important to you.

- REQUISITOS: Mamás embarazadas con al menos 6 meses de embarazo o con un hijo menor de 6 meses. - Join us at Roller Kingdom for a fun and meaningful community event focused on raising awareness about child abuse prevention. Families are invited to stop by our table to learn about local resources, prevention tips, and ways to help keep children safe.
- Nevada PEP - Understanding Section 504 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm
- Location - STATEWIDE - Virtual
- Section 504 protects students with disabilities from discrimination and exclusion. Join us to learn what a 504 Plan is, how it is different from an IEP, and how a Section 504 Plan can help your child succeed.

- Mujeres Fuertes Project
- Location #1 – Decatur Clinic (2nd Floor, Suite #10) –4800 Alpine Pl, Ste #10 Las Vegas, NV 89107 from 8 AM – 12 PM
- Location #2 –Dolores Huerta Resource Center –1737 Hunkins Drive North Las Vegas, NV 89030 from 1 PM – 5 PM
- Join us for free women’s health services including breast exams, cervical cancer screenings, HIV and STI testing, HPV vaccines, pregnancy testing, and more. The Mujeres Fuertes Project brings mobile health care to the community to help women take charge of their health.
- 4th Annual Harvesting Hope Fall Festival & Community Resource Fair–12pm to 3pm
- Location – Collaboration Center Foundation –8390 W. Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89113
- The Collaboration Center's 4th annual family fall festival and community resource fair promotes inclusion and disability awareness while bringing together families, service providers, and community members. There will be a community resource fair, family fun activities, a petting zoo, delicious food, and great music.

Thursday, November 13th
- Nevada PEP - Coffee Tea and IEP - 11:00am to 12:00pm
- Location - LAS VEGAS - 7211 West Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89117
- Don’t miss this small group in person learning opportunity for families! This guided interactive discussion will explore the special education process and encourage meaningful participation in IEPs. You’ll leave with new ideas that encourage high expectations that lead to success for students with disabilities.

- Fall Flu Immunization Event – 10:00am to 1:00pm

- Stay healthy this season! Join us for our Fall Flu Immunization Event, where families can receive free flu vaccines and learn more about preventing illness during the colder months. This event is open to all ages and designed to make getting your annual flu shot easy, convenient, and stress-free.
Monday, November 17th
- Nevada PEP - My Child is Struggling in School: What is My Next Step? - 5:00pm to 6:00pm
- Location - STATEWIDE - Virtual
- In this workshop we will discuss what to do if your child is struggling at school or if you suspect they may need special education. You will learn what schools can do to help and about the special education evaluation process.

Wednesday, November 19th
- The Children’s Cabinet –Process vs. Product – 10:30am to 12:00pm
- Location – LAS VEGAS –Family 2 Family Connection–3900 Cambridge Street # 107 Las Vegas, NV 89119
- While the main purpose of this workshop is to nurture creativity and provide a supportive environment for children to explore their artistic talents, parents will learn the difference between product and process-oriented art. Attendees will understand how art helps their children develop other essential life skills that will stay with them for years to come.

- Do you worry about your child’s reading? You will learn how children learn to read and how to partner with the school on reading improvement. Do not miss these strategies that help children become good readers!

- The Children’s Cabinet –STEM – 10:00am to 11:30am
- Location – LAS VEGAS –Raul P Elizondo Elementary–4865 North Goldfield Street North Las Vegas, NV 89031
- The Children's Cabinet provides a free 1.5-hour STEM class where participants (parents and children) will engage in several STEM activities and experiments. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: Parents with children ages 3-5 years old.
