Why It Matters

The first years of a child’s life are a time of rapid growth and change—for both children and caregivers. Having reliable information and support can make this transition smoother and more positive. This booklet helps families:

  • A healthy family starts with healthy parents, if you are not helping yourself you will not be able to help your child.
  • Build confidence in caring for a newborn and young child
  • Support healthy development and recognize important milestones
  • Access trusted services and resources within their community
