NV Child Care Now on First 5 Nevada!

Finding reliable child care information can feel overwhelming. Parents may need help finding care, understanding costs, or learning about financial assistance. Child care providers often need access to licensing information, training opportunities, and business resources. Employers may be looking for ways to support working families.

First 5 Nevada, a program of The Children’s Cabinet, is excited to announce the launch of the new NV Child Care section of our website. This new section brings together the information and resources currently available on NevadaChildCare.org into one centralized location, creating a simpler and more connected experience for families, providers, employers, and community partners across Nevada.

One Place for Child Care Information

The new NV Child Care section was created with a simple goal: make it easier for people to find the information they need.

Today, child care information is available across multiple websites and organizations. While these resources are valuable, searching through different sites can take time and effort. By bringing everything together in one location, First 5 Nevada is creating a more user-friendly experience that helps people quickly find answers and connect with services.

Whether you are a parent looking for child care options, a provider seeking professional resources, or an employer exploring family-friendly workplace supports, the new NV Child Care section will serve as a central hub for trusted information.

Designed with Families in Mind

For many families, finding child care is one of the most important decisions they make. Parents want safe, high-quality care where their children can learn, grow, and thrive.

The NV Child Care section will provide easy access to resources that can help families:

Instead of searching multiple websites, families will be able to visit one location to find information that supports informed decisions about their child's care and education.

The website is designed to be a trusted source of information, helping parents feel confident as they navigate their child care journey.

Supporting Nevada's Child Care Providers

Child care providers play a critical role in helping children learn and supporting parents who work, attend school, or pursue job training. The new NV Child Care section will continue to offer resources that support the success of Nevada's child care workforce.

Providers will be able to find information related to:

By integrating these resources into the First 5 Nevada website, providers will have easier access to important information while also connecting to a broader network of early childhood resources available throughout the state.

Helping Employers Support Working Families

Access to child care affects more than just parents and children. It also impacts businesses and Nevada's economy.

When families have reliable child care, employees are better able to maintain consistent work schedules, reduce absenteeism, and stay engaged in the workforce. Employers across Nevada increasingly recognize the important role they can play in helping working families succeed.

The new NV Child Care section will include information and resources that can help employers:

By supporting workers with young children, employers can strengthen their workforce while helping families achieve greater stability and success.

Meeting an Important Federal Requirement

The launch of the NV Child Care section also supports Nevada's commitment to meeting federal requirements under the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) program.

Federal law requires each state to maintain a consumer education website that provides families with information about child care options, health and safety standards, provider information, and available resources.

The NV Child Care section will serve as Nevada's official consumer website for child care information, making it easier for families to access the information they need in one convenient location.

This transition creates an opportunity to strengthen access to information while ensuring that Nevada continues to provide transparent, up-to-date resources for the public.

What Happens to NevadaChildCare.org?

The information and resources currently available on NevadaChildCare.org are not going away.

Beginning November 1, 2026, those resources will be incorporated into the new NV Child Care section on the First 5 Nevada website. Visitors will continue to find the information they rely on, but within a more comprehensive and centralized platform.

This transition is designed to improve accessibility while preserving the valuable content that families, providers, and community partners have come to depend on.

A Connected Resource for Nevada's Early Childhood Community

First 5 Nevada is committed to helping every child in Nevada have a strong start in life. Access to quality child care is a key part of that mission.

The new NV Child Care section represents more than a website update. It is an investment in making information easier to find, reducing barriers to access, and creating a stronger connection between families, providers, employers, and community organizations.

By bringing child care resources together under one roof, First 5 Nevada aims to create a more seamless experience for everyone who depends on these services.
