Community Events & Trainings

Partners throughout the state host a variety of community events and trainings designed to engage families, provide valuable resources, and promote early childhood development. From workshops and educational sessions to fun, interactive activities for kids, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Monday, October 19th, November 2nd and November 16th (3-part series) - Fostering Flexibility: Skills for Parenting with Purpose and Joy
Location: Virtual 
Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm
This FREE workshop, offered by UNR's Positive Behavior Support of Nevada, is a three part series (must attend all three sessions).

Tuesday, October 27th - Routines & Transitions: Simple Strategies for Home
Location: Virtual
Time: 9:30am to 11am
UNR's Positive Behavior Support Family Services is offering this FREE training, which will include strategies to create simple visual schedules to support home routines, use effective strategies to facilitate transitions, and teach skills in the moment to foster independence.

Wednesday, November 18th - Nevada's Child & Youth Fiscal Map
Location: Virtual
Time: 2pm to 3pm
Join The Children's Cabinet and Children's Funding Project to learn about Nevada's Child & Youth Fiscal Map - an interactive tool to understand the state and federal funding sources for a wide range of programs and services for children and youth ages 0-24.

Thursday, December 3rd - Beyond Behavior Summit
Location: Virtual
Time: Sessions begin at 9am
Beyond Behavior brings together professionals, advocates, and lived experience to explore what may be happening underneath the surface, including regulation, communication, connection, sensory needs, and the many ways neurodivergent children experience the world.

Wednesday, October 21st - Southern NV Health District Mobile Vaccines
Location: Windmill Library - 7060 W. Windmill Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89113
Time: 10am to 1pm
All vaccines are available for adults and children. SNHD accepts most insurances and has low cost vaccines for the uninsured. *Please bring proof of insurance if insured.

Friday, October 23rd - Prepare with Pedro - Safety Skills for Kids
Location: The Hills Preschool - 4310 Fuselier Drive, North Las Vegas, NV 89032
Time: 10am to 11am
Free family storytime and safety workshop with Pedro the Penguin. Offered by United Way of Southern Nevada and Verizon. Free disaster kit included for all attendees.

Saturday, October 24th - CCSD Family Support Center's Community Open House & Sweet Stations
Location: Central Family Support Center - 1720 S. Maryland Parkway, Las Vegas, NV 89104
Time: 9am to 11am
All are welcome! Meet local resources and community supports and enjoy candy, raffles and pumpkin decorating (for the first 75 kids). Costumes are optional and must be school appropriate.
