If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, call 988 for immediate assistance.
Early Childhood Mental Health Services
DCFS’ Early Childhood Mental Health Services provide therapeutic support for children birth through 8 years old and their families. Services include family therapy, targeted case management, and day treatment programs designed to strengthen children’s social and emotional well-being. The program partners with caregivers to promote healthy development, build strong family relationships, and support children in managing life’s challenges.
Families can self-refer and do not need a professional referral to access services. Medicaid and most insurance plans are accepted, and no-cost options may be available. Services are family-centered, with caregivers actively involved in the therapeutic process. Flexible scheduling and some telehealth options may be available to support accessibility. Our team is trained in trauma-informed and early childhood practices, and we work closely with community partners to provide comprehensive care.
