Readers in Training - Spread the Word Nevada

Readers in Training is a program that provides parents/guardians and their children from birth up to 5 years with books and early literacy resources. Participants in the program will receive:

1. One brand new, age-appropriate book mailed to the home once a month

2. Access to online content that promotes early literacy and school readiness skills

3. Virtual check-ins where families can interact and share successes

4. Opportunities to participate in playgroups that will help children develop the skills to become confident readers and successful students.

AGE:

Child between the ages of 0-5

INCOME:

Family income at or below 80% of median of the HUD income guidelines based on county of residence OR

Currently receiving assistance through:

  • TANF
  • Medicaid or Nevada Check Up
  • WIC
  • SNAP
  • LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
  • SSI (Social Security Disability Insurance)
  • Unemployment

RESIDENCE:

Statewide
