La Fuerza de Familias Latinas is a program designed to empower Latino families, providing resources to support the development of children ages 0 to 5. Through free, interactive virtual workshops and community conversations, you will learn strategies to strengthen communication, promote learning at home, and build a bright future for your little ones. The program uses digital content and soap operas to introduce early literacy, the science of reading, and STEM concepts. The workshops are in Spanish.

March is a special month for families who love stories, imagination, and a good dose of childhood wonder—it’s when we celebrate Dr. Seuss Day. This year, Nevada families have an extra-special way to join the fun: the 2026 Seuss-A-Palooza, a free, family-friendly celebration hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno Extension and the North Las Vegas Library District.
Special Needs Trusts help parents plan for the future of a child with complex medical needs. If your child is under five years old, the future might seem very far away. However, talking to a professional now can help you build a plan that grows with your child. Taking small steps today makes the "big stuff" much easier to handle later.
Did you know that Nevada offers a free reading service for children and adults who have trouble reading regular print? It’s called Nevada Talking Book Services, and it is designed to help people with low vision, blindness, physical disabilities, or reading disabilities enjoy books and magazines in a way that works best for them.
