La Fuerza de Familias Latinas is a program designed to empower Latino families, providing resources to support the development of children ages 0 to 5. Through free, interactive virtual workshops and community conversations, you will learn strategies to strengthen communication, promote learning at home, and build a bright future for your little ones. The program uses digital content and soap operas to introduce early literacy, the science of reading, and STEM concepts. The workshops are in Spanish.
Join the movement with Latino parents like you to exchange tips and resources to support your children. The February 2025 workshops include:

We all want to be seen for who we are, our strengths, what we can achieve, and what makes us special. Being seen is one of the objectives of Learning Disabilities Week (June 16th – 22nd), a time to remember that our friends and families with learning differences are not alone.
The Washoe County School District (WCSD) created Parent University to offer workshops to help families build upon skills, knowledge and support systems to advocate for student success. Check out the library of video clips in English and Spanish for foundational skills needed for success in learning to read in elementary school.
