December 2025 Community Events and Trainings

Partners throughout the state host a variety of community events and trainings designed to engage families, provide valuable resources, and promote early childhood development. From workshops and educational sessions to fun, interactive activities for kids, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

All of the events and trainings provided below are offered at no cost to participants. Some partners offer additional trainings which may charge a fee to participants. Wednesday, December 3rd

• Community Baby Shower – 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Location – RENO – Northern Nevada HOPES- 580 W 5th, Reno, NV 89503
  • Hosted by Molina Healthcare and Northern Nevada Hopes. This is a free, first-come, first-served event for expecting parents, caregivers, and families with young children. We’ll be offering diapers, wipes, educational resources, presentations, raffles, and connections to essential community services.

• The Children’s Cabinet –STEM – 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Location – LAS VEGAS – Family 2 Family Connection- 3900 Cambridge Street #107 Las Vegas, NV 89119
  • The Children's Cabinet provides a free 1.5-hour STEM class where participants (parents and children) will engage in several STEM activities and experiments. ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: Parents with children ages 3-5 years old.

Saturday, December 6th

• Shop for a Cause – 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
  • Location – RENO – Macy’s - 5000 Meadowood Mall Cir, Reno, NV 89502
  • Come explore interactive booths hosted by local nonprofit organizations, enjoy fun activities and prize giveaways, and learn how you can get involved in meaningful community work.

Tuesday, December 9th

• The Children’s Cabinet – Crib for Kids – 10:00 am to 11:00 am
  • Location – LAS VEGAS –5905 South Decatur Boulevard Las Vegas, NV 89118
  • A one-hour parenting/caregiver class on the importance of safe sleep practices to reduce the risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID)

Wednesday, December 10th

• The Children’s Cabinet – Magic Moments with Books – 10:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Location – LAS VEGAS –Family 2 Family Connection- 3900 Cambridge Street #107 Las Vegas, NV 89119
  • In this class, we create an engaging environment where families and children will explore the magic of stories. We start with a captivating read-aloud, using expressive voices and lively gestures to bring the characters and events to life. The goal is to make reading fun and foster a lifelong love of books.

• The Children’s Cabinet – How Vroom Turns Challenges into Learning Moments! – 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
  • Location – RENO –961 Matley Lane Suite 110 Reno, NV 89502
  • In this interactive session, discover how to turn everyday challenges into brain-building moments with Vroom. Learn simple, science-backed strategies to support your child’s development, reduce behavior struggles, and strengthen your bond

Friday, December 19th

• Anthem - Winter Warmup Baby Shower – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Location – LAS VEGAS –Anthem Wellness Center - 2348 E. Bonanza Road
  • Join Anthem for their monthly Baby Shower and photos with Santa! Diapers will be provided while supplies last (available sizes are newborn to size 6).
