March is a special month for families who love stories, imagination, and a good dose of childhood wonder—it’s when we celebrate Dr. Seuss Day, honoring the birthday of one of the most beloved children’s authors of all time. This year, Nevada families have an extra-special way to join the fun: the 2026 Seuss-A-Palooza, a free, family-friendly celebration hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno Extension and the North Las Vegas Library District.

Seuss-A-Palooza brings the vibrant, wacky, and imaginative world of Dr. Seuss to life with activities designed for children of all ages. Families can enjoy live readings of favorite Dr. Seuss books, hands-on Seuss-inspired crafts, and engaging STEM activities that make learning fun. Each child will even receive a free book to take home, while supplies last—perfect for encouraging early literacy and fostering a love of reading at home.

Why Events Like This Matter
Dr. Seuss Day—celebrated each year on March 2—kicks off festivities for Nevada Reading Week, a statewide effort to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in young children. Events like Seuss-A-Palooza give families a joyful, community-centered way to connect around books and creativity. With read-alouds, interactive activities, and resource-sharing from local partners, families leave with not just memories but literacy tools they can use at home.
Join the Fun!
Whether your child loves “The Cat in the Hat,” giggles at “Green Eggs and Ham,” or is just beginning their reading journey, Seuss-A-Palooza is the perfect way to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day. Come enjoy stories, crafts, learning, and Seussian fun—because as Dr. Seuss reminds us, “You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.”
We hope to see your family there for this colorful celebration of imagination, reading, and community!
