Screenings Available

Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3 & ASQ-SE)

NV Early Intervention Services (NEIS) and The Children's Cabinet

ASQ-3 is a developmental screening tool that pinpoints developmental progress in children between the ages of one month to 5 ½ years. ASQ-3 screening provides a quick look at how children are doing in important areas, such as communication, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills. ASQ-3 can help identify your child’s strengths as well as any areas where your child may need support.  The ASQ-SE2 is a social emotional developmental screener. This is used to screen all children and can help detect signs of delays or areas of concern regarding a child's behavior and social capabilities.

This screening takes approximately 40-50 minutes to complete.

Vision Screenings

Lions Club

The Lions Club will be offering no cost vision screenings for children and families. Eighty percent of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured. The first step to prevention is awareness. The second is early detection through vision screening.

Dental Screenings

Nevada Health Centers - Elko Family Medical & Dental Center

Dr. Lavinya Yap, a licensed Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), will be on site providing dental screenings for children.
Dental screenings involve a visual examination of the teeth and play an important role in early childhood care. They allow for the early detection and prevention of issues such as cavities, gum disease, and even oral cancer. Identifying problems in their early stages means treatment is often less invasive, more effective, and can help avoid more extensive, costly, and painful procedures later on.
In addition, Dr. Yap will provide oral hygiene instructions to help children learn how to maintain good oral health. These early lessons empower children to build lifelong habits that prevent dental problems and promote overall wellness.

Mental Health Screening

Zero Suicides Elko County

Zero Suicides Elko County, is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing a better understanding of suicide, education, and preventing suicide in Elko County, Nevada. Zero Suicides will be offering mental health screenings at the event.
